Brown v. Quicken Loans

Jim Bordas has made protecting low-income families for predatory banks and businesses a focus of his career. Just as he did decades ago in the Marook v. Bank One case, he took Lourie Brown’s case to heart and filed suit against Quicken Loans for predatory lending.

Jim Bordas and Jason Causey showed how Quicken had stacked the deck against Ms. Brown and filled her loan with illegal and unfair terms. It could never have been reasonably paid off. After a bench trial, $2.7 million was awarded to the Browns. Quicken refused to pay up, and filed multiple appeals, including demanding a trip to the US Supreme Court. But Bordas & Bordas defended the appeals successfully, and delivered justice to the Brown family.
