I had a wonderful time in Las Vegas last week! When you see Las Vegas in the movies, it looks so confusing, but it’s really not. I did get lost in the Forum (a mall with hundreds of shops in it), but that was because the ceiling was like a sky light and everything looked the same. Plus, it was darker than I am used to. I touched a Louis Vuitton bag and looked longingly at some Christian Louboutin shoes. That was so exciting because I will never own either one, so seeing and touching them was the next best thing. I do love my bags and shoes!
I went horseback riding at Red Rock Canyon. The mountains are beautiful and the desert is really something to see. My horse, Blue, was misbehaving because she always wanted to stop and eat, but I did not allow that to stop me from having a good time. I had to be the boss and submit her to my will. Blue wasn’t happy about it because she wanted to eat every tiny piece of grass and bush, but she got to eat when she got back to the barn, so she survived being bossed around. All-in-all, it was a very nice ride. Amazingly, I didn’t get sore at all, which was surprising since I have not ridden in years.
I also saw the Hoover Dam, which was fantastic. It is so huge. It really is awe-inspiring. We took a tour to see the inner workings of the dam and then went to the Overlook to see it up high. It was strange being able to walk from Nevada to Arizona in just a few steps because the Hoover Dam is in both states. The view is terrific from the Overlook. It really is a must-see.
Walking the strip was really interesting. There are so many people from so many countries and all speaking other languages. It was fun to listen to them, even though I had no idea what they were saying. Although we didn’t understand each other very well, everyone was very friendly. There are so many things to see, it’s really hard to take it all in in just a few days.
One of the most exciting parts was flying. I had never flown before so I was really looking forward to seeing what it was all about. Well, let me just say that I love it, and I want to fly again! Seeing the ground from so high in the air is really amazing. Some said it was not a good landing because of the turbulence but since I had nothing to compare it to, I had no idea! It was really fun – sort of like a rollercoaster only for planes.
If you have never been to Las Vegas, I would definitely recommend it. It is a fascinating place to visit. There is something there for everyone. The shows are really good, and Rod Stewart’s concert was fantastic. Also, let’s not forget about the food. It is out-of-this-world good. I had wonderful meals the entire week. There was not one thing I didn’t like. There are also family-oriented things to do if you want to bring your children. So, if you haven’t planned your vacation yet for this year, think about Las Vegas. It’s fun!
