Running for a Cause

Dr. Joseph Palmer’s private generosity for children in our community enabled children of any economic status ability to attend events at our local YMCA.  Joey passed away in 2015.  He was not only our dentist; he was a family friend and an outstanding example of a good person in all that he did.  We lost Dr. Palmer at a far too young age of 55.  That loss has been felt deeply among his family, friends, and our community, but his mission continues through this annual 5k at our local YMCA.

Earlier this month, along with my parents, William and Suzanne Campbell, my brother Billy Campbell, my husband, Charlie Dodd, and I continued our tradition to honor Dr. Palmer by participating in the 5k event.  Proudly, some of our crew landed medals in their categories, including my elderly parents, brother, and several members of the Palmer family. I know Joey was smiling with each of us as we crossed the finish line that morning.

Great cause in honor of a great human being.  Consider joining us next summer to continue this annual event, as Dr. Palmer knows the importance of family, children, and our community.
