April 2nd is National Peanut Butter & Jelly Day. It’s a day to celebrate the infamous “PB&J” sandwich. As a kid, I can remember practically living on peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Not only are they good for lunch, but they’re great for dinner and snacks too. Don’t forget you can eat peanut butter and jelly on toast, English muffins, crackers, and more. There’s just something about peanut butter and jelly that makes them the perfect pair. Because it’s National Peanut Butter & Jelly Day, I thought it would be fun to learn more about them. So, here are some interesting and fun facts about Peanut Butter & Jelly:

  1. The average American will eat about 3,000 peanut butter and jelly (PB&J) sandwiches in their lifetime;
  2.  The first written reference to PB&J sandwiches was in 1901;
  3. An American will eat an average of 1500 PB&J sandwiches before turning 18;
  4. The PB&J sandwich is President George W. Bush’s favorite sandwich;
