Jamie Bordas Enjoys Learning from the Passionate Production Crew at West Liberty University

One of the favorite parts of my work week is undoubtedly each Friday when I make the trek up Route 88 to West Liberty University to record the latest episodeJamie favorite.jpg of the Bordas and Bordas Legal Review. Each week I discuss with viewers legal issues affecting our area, our state, and our nation. It was a little over a year ago that I first hit the airwaves as the host of this weekly television program.

I have to admit that despite the fact that I am rarely at a loss for words, I was pretty nervous about being the host of a TV show that would be broadcast to tens of thousands of people each day. After all, I had absolutely no experience in television, or any other form of media for that matter. However, my nerves were quickly put to ease when I met the students at West Liberty who make up the production crew. They were energetic, eager to learn, and obviously up to the task of making even a rookie look good.

Their instructor, Theresa Gretchen, not only does a remarkable job in teaching them about sound, graphics, and camera angles, but also makes it genuinely fun for her students. She doesn't just do her job, but rather she is passionate about bblr.gif the kids that she teaches. She knows about their backgrounds, their families, and their career dreams. She laughs with them and jokes with them, yet expects them to be accountable for the job they do. Her enthusiasm and passion rub off on everyone around her, especially all of the students on her crew who make me look like I know what I am doing each week.

Because of that, I get excited and enthusiastic about doing the show each week  and helping them to improve their technical skills that they will hopefully be able to use throughout their careers. Being on West Liberty's campus in that type of setting each week certainly keeps me feeling younger and inspires me to try to be passionate about my job every day, just as  Theresa, her top assistant Jared Thompson (who always livens the room), and their students are about theirs.

As a year has now passed since I first began hosting the show, I now realize that Icontrolroombblr.jpg was wrong when I thought I was just going to be helping the students learn. They are helping me even more. So, when you see me on your television as the host of the Bordas and Bordas Legal Review, know that there are a lot of people that go into producing the program. Their names scroll across the bottom of the screen at the end of each week's show. Take a closer look at those names next time. They are the real stars of the show.
