From Fall Turkey Hunting to a Game Day Snack
I love fall! It makes me think of cooler temperatures, changing leaves, hot chocolate, hunting and, of course, football. In my house, football and hunting are two of my family’s favorite things. During this time of year, you are sure to find my family either hunting or hanging out with friends to watch our favorite college football team, the WVU Mountaineers.
In October, with turkey hunting in full swing, getting a nice bird can mean you don’t have to go to the store to buy a turkey for Thanksgiving. However, it can also mean you have some great food to share with friends at your football parties. So, I thought I would share an easy game day recipe that tastes delicious.
Recipe for Buffalo Turkey Dip (Pete Muller from the NWTF Website):
Ingredients
- Approximately 2 cups pulled wild turkey breast
- ½ to ¾ cup ranch (homemade or bottled)
- 1 package cream cheese
- ½ bottle Frank’s wing sauce
- ½ cup cheddar jack cheese
Directions
Mix all ingredients and pour into a 9 x 9 pan. Sprinkle additional cheese on top of the dip. Heat in oven 400 degrees until cheese on top is melted.
Hopefully, you and your family will enjoy this recipe as much as we do!
