I’m extremely blessed to have both my parents at my age. This month, our mother turns 90 years young. My sisters and I are having a surprise 90th birthday party for her in the town I grew up in, Irwin, PA. Family and friends will be coming from all over to celebrate her birthday.
As we all know, at this age, there are not a lot of friends her age still around, but there are a few, and it will be nice to see them. As my parents age, I notice things are starting to slip a little, but heck, at 90 and 92 years of age, who wouldn’t be slipping? I’m not as sharp as I used to be, either.
Both my parents have told us that they never expected to live this long. I guess when you live right and have the love of your children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, it keeps you going and helps you live longer.
So, we will celebrate our mother and hope she has a wonderful surprise party and here’s to many more wonderful years on this earth.
