About
Jay Stoneking has been involved in some way in almost every major verdict and settlement obtained by Bordas & Bordas in the past 20 years. He has performed the bulk of the research and writing in multi-million dollar verdicts in a wide variety of areas of the law, including product liability, nursing home negligence, medical malpractice, wrongful death accidents, electrocutions, and insurance bad faith cases. Many of these cases would not have had these results without Jay's skillful brief writing. Prior to joining Bordas & Bordas, Jay worked as a clerk for the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals. While serving in that capacity, he was intimately involved in drafting the opinions that ultimately became the law in West Virginia. In doing so, Jay built upon the writing experience that he gained while serving as Senior Editor of the West Virginia Law Review's National Coal Issue.
Jay has argued numerous cases before the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals, the United States Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, and courts in Ohio's Fourth, Fifth, Sixth and Seventh Appellate Districts. He is a member of the West Virginia Bar Association, the West Virginia Association for Justice, and the Ohio County Bar Association. He is licensed to practice in West Virginia and Ohio.
The results in a legal case depend on a variety of factors, many of which are unique to each case. Prior results by this firm or any other do not guarantee future results. Case results presented here are illustrations of the type of work done by Bordas & Bordas and not a guarantee that any prospective case will yield any particular amount.
