The Places I Have Gone and the Things That I Have Seen – Celebrating My Work Anniversary

It’s that time again! My work anniversary was August 16th. I have been with Bordas and Bordas for 13 years. It sure did go fast! I have had an exciting 13 years too. I started out in the Wheeling office, then went to the Pittsburgh office, then went to the Moundsville office, and now I am back in the Wheeling office. I also worked for a week in the St. Clairsville office, so as far as I am concerned, that counts as working in all the offices at one time or another.

When I started at Bordas and Bordas, I was in the basement. It was quite nice down there and very quiet. I loved the view from the window and got to see deer and squirrels frolicking around in the backyard. Back then, we were not paperless, so I had plenty of room for my files. It was a great working environment too since I was learning new things and needed the quiet to concentrate. I really loved my time in the basement.

When I relocated to the Pittsburgh office, I loved the views there also. I also loved coming into the city from the tunnel, especially at Christmastime when it was still dark. Once you clear the tunnel everything is lit up. The tall buildings brightly lit is really a sight to see. Being a country girl, that was definitely an experience that I thoroughly enjoyed.

After my time in Pittsburgh, I returned to the Wheeling office briefly and then went to the Moundsville office when I was assigned to another attorney. I love the Moundsville office! If you didn’t know, it used to be a bank. It is very pretty and spacious inside. During Christmastime, the tree is absolutely beautiful and is situated in front of the windows beside the front doors so everyone driving past can see it. The building was also in the movie Fools’ Parade. Fun fact, the author of Fools’ Parade was Davis Grubb who was born and raised in Moundsville and was also in the movie.

Staying in Moundsville was not meant to be as I was assigned to another attorney in the Wheeling office who needed additional help, so back I went to Wheeling. I am now on the second floor, and I love the view from my window. I always know when it’s going to rain, because I can see it coming over the hills. It’s fun to wait for the storms to hit because who doesn’t like a good storm!

All-in-all, it’s been a fun 13 years! I have seen so many new things I wouldn’t have ordinarily been able to experience and met many different people that I wouldn’t have had the pleasure of meeting had I just stayed in one office. I have learned so much during the course of my 13 years. I am looking forward to seeing what the coming years bring.
