Random Acts of Kindness Day is February 17

February 17 is also known as Random Acts of Kindness Day. The purpose of this day is to be kind and lend a helping hand to brighten someone’s day. Random Acts of Kindness Day began in 1995 in Denver, Colorado, by a nonprofit organization. It wasn’t until 2004 when this holiday became more widespread.

Being nice and treating others how you want to be treated goes a very long way. No good deed is too small, it can be as simple as holding the door open for someone or complimenting a stranger. The following are a few other ways that you can help spread positivity today and every other day of the year.

  • Donate to a charity.
  • Pay for someone in line behind you.
  • Bring in a treat for coworkers.
  • Buy your friend a coffee.
  • Send a card to a loved one.
  • Help someone with their bags or buggy at the grocery store.
  • Volunteer your time.
  • Tip your waitress extra.
  • Call and check in on a loved one.

It costs nothing to be nice. We need more kindness in the world now more than ever. I hope you all have a wonderful day and put a smile on someone’s face!
