Organized Home, Organized Mind
If you have been feeling stressed lately and unable to concentrate on tasks at hand, look at the space and environment that you are living in. Having a cluttered and unorganized home can weigh on your mind a lot more than you think. Taking a few minutes each day to organize your living space can really help you become more productive and less stressed.
The following are a few tips to keep in mind when organizing your home:
Start in one place
Decide which room you want to begin with and don’t move on to another space until that one is finished.
Allow plenty of time
Don’t get overwhelmed, take time each day to work on the selected space. You may not finish it all in one day and that’s ok!
Go through contents and eliminate
Go through the items that you have in the selected room and clean out what you don’t use or want anymore and get rid of it. If you haven’t worn it or used it in two years, get rid of it!
Organize
Once you have decluttered the space, find ways to organize what you have. Take advantage of shelf space, closet space, cabinets, and drawers.
Pick up each night
Stay ahead of the game and do a small pick up each evening before bed. Staying on top of these tasks and items will help prevent clutter and will help keep your space clean.
Taking the time to get your house in order is important. Make a to-do list and check items off as you go. It may take some time, but it will all be worth it in the end.
