So many of us, myself included, work and find it very difficult to make time or find the time for fitness in our everyday lives. However, it’s so very important to our physical and mental health that we do. National Fitness Day is celebrated every year on the first Saturday in May. This year it falls on May 7.
National Fitness Day was created to encourage us to get up and get moving. Sometimes the hardest part of incorporating a fitness routine into our already busy lives is getting started. However, once you get started you realize how amazing it makes you feel. It offers so many benefits. You often feel happier, stronger, more energetic and so much more. With spring weather here, it’s a great time to get started and venture outdoors for some exercise. As I was looking for some outdoor fitness ideas, I came across many options and thought I would share some of them:
Hiking
Kayaking
Biking
Trail running
Outdoor yoga
Swimming
Stand-up paddle boarding
Obstacle courses
Rollerblading
Basketball
Outdoor boot camp
Playground interval workout
Jogging or walking
Tennis or pickle ball
Outdoor volleyball
I know I always feel better when I make time to exercise. I’m hoping to try some of these ideas soon.
Happy National Fitness Day everyone! Wishing everyone a happy and healthy lifestyle!
