Is it Too Early for Pumpkin?
As much as I enjoy summertime and all of the fun activities that come with the season, I am ready for everything pumpkin! Fall is my favorite season, I enjoy the cooler weather where you can still wear shorts but need a crew neck sweatshirt to throw on, autumn decorations, everything Halloween, warm scented candles, cozy blankets, cardigans, leggings, scary movies and of course all of the pumpkin flavored foods and drinks.
I was content with it still being summer until last week when I saw an ad for Dunkin’ Donuts announcing the great pumpkin arrival! All it took was one click on that ad and now my whole Facebook feed is full of pumpkins, fall décor, and Halloween fun. I gave in and began my fall countdown. With it being the first week of August, I think it’s appropriate!
Of all the fall themed things I mentioned above, pumpkin flavored coffees are definitely at the top of my list. I prefer iced coffees, lattes and macchiatos, Dunkin’ being my favorite. I was very excited to see that Dunkin’ Donuts fall menu begins on Wednesday, August 16. The iconic Pumpkin Spice Signature Latte is returning along with the Pumpkin Donut, Pumpkin Munchkins, and Pumpkin Muffin. A new item on the menu this year which I am very excited to try is the Nutty Pumpkin coffee, iced of course!
While Dunkin’ is my number one, I did see where the other coffee chain (Starbucks) has also released their fall menu. It is set to launch on August 29. One fall menu item that Starbucks has that I’ll never be able to resist is the infamous Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew. There are two other new items that also caught my eye which is the Iced Pumpkin Cream Chai Tea Latte and the Iced Apple Crisp Oatmilk Shaken Espresso.
Even though Dunkin’ will always have my heart and the “other” coffee shop has a few items I enjoy, I would also really like to start supporting local coffee shops! There are several in my area but I’m never sure where to start. I’m always up for suggestions so if you have any, please let me know!
Some may think it’s too early for pumpkin, but I think it’s just the right time. Enjoy your last few weeks of summer, fall is on its way!
