Great Outdoors Month

Great Outdoors Month

Great Outdoors Month

June is Great Outdoors Month.  In June, 1998, President Clinton announced Great Outdoors Week to give a boost to the economy and the outdoor recreation industry.  It continued to be popular through other Presidents’ administrations and was eventually expanded to the whole month of June.  There is no better time to explore what nature and our beautiful country has to offer than Great Outdoors Month.

Exploring the outdoors can be both physically and mentally beneficial.  So many of us are surrounded by technology on a daily basis and live such fast-paced lives that we could all use a break.  Also, celebrating Great Outdoors Month helps our economy.  So whatever type of outdoor activity and/or adventure you choose, there is fun to be had by everyone.

Here are just a few ideas of things to do for Great Outdoors Month:

  1. Hiking
  2. Fishing
  3. Walking
  4. Camping
  5. Kayaking
  6. Swimming
  7. Bird watching

Our lives can get so busy, but I hope everyone finds a moment this June to celebrate the Great Outdoors. Happy Great Outdoors Month, Everyone!
