A Perfect Day for Snow Ice Cream

A Perfect Day for Snow Ice Cream

As the snow continues to fall, I can’t help but think of how much I enjoyed snow days as a child. While sledding, building a snowman, and making snow angels are fun activities, I think my favorite memory is when we would make snow ice cream. We would use fresh, clean snow and add ingredients to it. We would also add toppings like sprinkles and chocolate sauce. It was so good. I am an adult now, so if I tried this again, I may have a different opinion. But I wanted to share the following recipe in case you are home today and want to give it a try!

Snow Ice Cream

What you need:

  • 8 cups of Fresh snow
  • 1 cup of milk (any kind)
  • 1/3 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch of salt

Directions:

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together your milk, sugar, vanilla, and salt. Bundle up and head outside to get your eight cups of CLEAN fresh snow. Immediately add it into the mixing bowl and stir it until you get it to a consistency that you like. It should be a soft, fluffy mixture, not runny. It melts quickly inside, so top it off with sprinkles, Oreos, chocolate sauce, or whipped cream and enjoy!

Happy snow day!
