Summertime Parties and Vacations
From Memorial Day until Labor Day, we spend time with family and friends outdoors. We go to graduations, weddings, pool parties and barbecues. Toss in a steak fry or two, add in a few long weekends and, boom, you soon realize summer will be over before you know it.
While you’re attending your events, though, you may want to remember to have a few things on hand. Be sure to have sunscreen, water, sunglasses, a sun hat, bug spray and always have a designated driver if you’re having a drink or two. These suggestions are a few to keep your summertime fun, fun. Make good, smart choices during these summer months.
Certainly, summer vacations are normally fun times for families. I always prayed the trips didn’t turn into the next movie hit like National Lampoon’s Summer Vacation – yet with my last name instead of Griswold! We all have had one vacation like that, or at least know someone’s vacation that turned into a comparable situation. Those movies are funny, but it would be a nightmare if yours truly turned out that way. So, once again, be smart and make good choices when vacationing this summer and always have a backup.
So, here’s to summertime, and our Red White and Blue!! Thank a veteran, because freedom comes with a price, and some paid the price for our freedom with their own lives. Thank you to all veterans!
Now, go out, enjoy your summer months, have a hot dog, eat an ear of corn and have a slice of apple pie because summer goes too fast not to enjoy the good stuff. The next thing you know it will be football season! (Which I love too.)
