Learning to Can

As we have just recently celebrated Independence Day, the cornstalks in our garden thankfully made the knee-high goal. As a matter of fact, my family’s entire garden is pretty bountiful!  Apparently, it was a good year for local crops as I have attended many farmer’s markets and seen so many varieties of fruits and vegetables.

Because our family garden has done so well, this year I have decided that I am going to try my hand at the art of canning.  Watching endless YouTube videos and other sources on the internet have been helpful in my “confidence” area, so we shall see.  I also plan on including my children and grandchildren in this venture with the hopes of possibly making an annual family event for us to enjoy together.

If canning doesn’t work out, I will have enough zucchini bread, zucchini muffins, zucchini cookies and zucchini brownies to feed a neighborhood.
