Scott and his wife, Kathy, who is a breast cancer survivor, formed Ohio Valley Breast Cancer Awareness, Inc. which annually operates the Driving Fore a Cure golf classic, raising funds to benefit breast cancer patients in the Ohio Valley. Over the past six years, the organization has raised $150,000 to help families in need.
Scott is also active in other community activities. He served as president of Pike Cubs Baseball Association from 2000 to 2003 and also served on its board from 1998 to 2000. In 2002, he was elected vice president of the Mountaineer League Baseball Association which in one of the largest PONY baseball organizations in the country. The league has fifteen member organizations and includes over 1,400 boys and girls ages five through fourteen on over one hundred teams. Scott is responsible for scheduling all of the games for the league including the post-season tournament and scheduling umpires for the games. He has been a member of Wheeling Elks Lodge No. 28 since 1987. Scott is the father of two sons, George and Sam. He has one granddaughter, Ella.
