Jim married his college sweetheart, Linda Mamone, who is not only his marriage partner but also one of the founders of Bordas & Bordas. Jim is the father of two boys-Jamie, who is a graduate of Notre Dame College of Law and now a partner with the Bordas firm; and Ben, a Clemson University graduate, who has various businesses in Ohio County. Jim, Linda, and their children are devout practicing Catholics. Jim has been a youth football, baseball, and hockey coach. He is a former league commissioner in the Wheeling Hockey Association. Jim enjoys sports, travel, biking, tennis and boating. He is on the board of the Soup Kitchen and supports numerous charities in West Virginia, Ohio and Florida.
Jim has championed the causes of women, poor children, the abused, and animals for years and he has supported various charities that lend their support to these causes. He was most recently chosen along with Tom Flaherty of Flaherty Sensabaugh and Bonasso and Gretchen Callas of Jackson Kelly to co-chair the efforts to raise money for Legal Aid of West Virginia. He is a member of the Board of Governors of the West Virginia Association for Justice. He was recently chosen by the West Virginia Supreme Court to assist in drawing up form instructions for the Bar of the State of West Virginia.
Since moving to Wheeling, Jim has served many years as a volunteer coach for the Wheeling Amateur Hockey Association. Jim has also volunteered his time as a football and baseball coach. He, along with his wife Linda, is currently a Co-Trustee of the Roy Chambers Foundation, a charitable organization that provides services and goods to needy children with needs in Ohio County. Jim and Linda have been instrumental in assisting numerous other public and charitable causes as well.
Jim attends St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church in Wheeling. He and his wife, Linda, are the parents of two sons, Jamie and Ben. He belongs to the West Virginia Association for Justice, the American Association for Justice and the West Virginia State Bar. He is an avid Democrat.
