FEMALE VOICE: The civil lawsuit involving Camden Clark Memorial Hospital wrapped up less than two hours ago. The jury began deliberating at 10:30 this morning. And they announced the verdict in Judge Robert Water's circuit courtroom just after 4:30. The jury sided with the plaintiff Bernard Boggs. Boggs sued Camden Clark for wrongful death after his wife Hilda's death in September 2001.
Boggs says his wife went to the hospital for a broken ankle and died during surgery to repair the bone. He says he's glad to see the situation come to an end.
FEMALE VOICE: Boggs died from an anesthesia overdose. The jury decided that Camden Clark was responsible for the death and for covering up evidence.
CHRISTOPHER REGAN: Documents were destroyed. Witnesses were corrupted and coerced. And we saw a very, very strong case against the hospital that they basically despoiled the medical record hiding the facts and trying to hide the truth about what had happened.
