Let me start off by saying, I love this time of year. I guess my love for Halloween was inherited from my mother. As children, my siblings and I would come home from school to a house fully decorated with spooky cardboard cutouts and honeycomb pumpkin centerpieces.
She would have witches and cats with crepe paper arms and legs dangling in doorways that would actually touch the tops of our heads as we walked through. Oh! I can’t forget to mention the cardboard skeleton with moveable legs and arms that was about as tall as I was.
Back then, there were no glitter pumpkins, scary motorized creatures that jump at you or strands of green and purple lights. It was simple. It was fun. Most of all…it was memorable.
